Well it's January, and it's cold and wet, so it's nice to stay near to home for these early 'training' walks. Sometimes it's easy to forget amongst the hustle and bustle of the Big Smoke just how many parks and open spaces there are right on our doorstep. One of the benefits of entering Trailwalker will be reminding us to spend more time in the green corners of London this year!
Richmond Park has become a favourite spot over the last few weeks ... the weather might be bleak but the views are more inspiring than the treadmill at the gym!

An epic trek for a great cause
Four people, one goal: to trek 100 km within 30 hours, and raise over £3000 to help support the incredible work of Oxfam & the Gurkha Welfare Trust.
Starting early on the morning of 16th July 2011, our team of 4 will take our first steps on the epic Oxfam Trailwalker route across the South Downs... and we hope to trek our way to the finish line less than 30 hours later! We will be walking 100km or 62 miles - that's the equivalent of two-and-a-half marathons, up and down Ben Nevis and Snowdon, all in one go!
This is a huge personal and team challenge for all of us, but more importantly, with your generous sponsorship we will be raising over £3000 for charity. Take a look at our fundraising page to see just how much difference every donation makes: http://www.virginmoneygiving.com/team/TeamTrekAmerica
Thank you for your support!
